Amber Straughn is an Astrophysicist who works for NASA.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics in its Occupational Outlook Handbook,

"Physicists and astronomers study the interactions of matter and energy. Theoretical physicists and astronomers may study the nature of time or the origin of the universe. Some physicists design and perform experiments with sophisticated equipment such as particle accelerators, electron microscopes, and lasers."

Amber earned her PhD in Physics, going on to do multiple postdoctorals, at Nasa's space flight center and as a scientist at Nasa Goddard. She still currently works at Goddard, and is on the science team for the James Webb Space Telescope. She has also worked in outreach, spreading the word about her career, discoveries, and accomplishments.
