Ashley Lewis is a Medical Lab Scientist.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics in its Occupational Outlook Handbook,

"Clinical laboratory technologists (also known as medical laboratory scientists) and clinical laboratory technicians (also known as medical laboratory technicians) perform medical laboratory tests for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease."

Ashley has a degree in Medical Lab Science. She has worked for Duke University and the University of South Carolina doing blood transfusion work, and as a generalist in multiple hospitals. She now works PRN, meaning working on call when the need arises instead of having a specific schedule at one facility.
